We’ve been away from the internet at my father-in-law’s place. These shots are of his back yard…VW micro bus graveyard

Here are some of the photos from the past 2 days in North Carolina. So far I haven’t had much time to get behind the camera. The lighting was down right awful last night but the people we were with are lots of fun to photograph.

I am working on understanding how to get good color and black/white photographs during the winter. If anyone has comments, feedback, and food for thought on the images below or any other images during the winter I would love to hear it. I’ve been playing with shutter speed and doing all of my photography on the manual setting. I like what I have taken so far but want to learn more.

I went out earlier this afternoon to take pictures and lay in provisions before the snow storm. Normally, when the snow is coming I am too concerned with what my son wants to do in the snow to have time to take photos. He is out of town and I’m on my own this weekend and I’m looking forward to the possibilities for photography.

I photographed my spouse running the Tufts 10k for Women again this year and had the pleasure of standing beside Joan Benoit Samuelson while the kids race was happening. This was taken just before the lead runners were coming in.

While we are at it, here are some famous and not so famous faces from the Boston Marathon. A $25.00 donation to MBHP’s marathon team (put a note in the comments on the donation page saying you saw this post) will get you an 8×10 print of any one of these or any image found on my website.

It was cold and rainy all day so I have left my camera in the bag for the most part today but managed to get a few photos in between rain drop dodging.

I got the film from Western MA back today. I’m not very happy with the shots but I had fun taking them. Hopefully I’ll enjoy the roll I am currently shooting when I get them back from the developer.

We took a trip out to the western part of the state today. These are the results from my digital camera. I also had the Holga with me and will post those once I get the film back. Almost all of these were taken at Brookfield Farm. I have not had the opportunity to do much photography in the snow so this was a fun experiment!
